Well, the third pitch is up, and I’m starting pitch 4. My goal is to get the 4th pitch up and all my junk hauled up to that anchor by Friday. Then I’ll head home for about a week to attend a family reunion and rest up for the “push” to the top.
Big wall climbers among you may be thinking, “Wow, this is slow.” And I would respond: “Yup, no kidding! What a grungefest! And being solo doesn’t help for countless reasons. And, finally, wow, I’m getting to be an old fart, and everything just takes longer than it did 20 years ago.” But, slowly (but surely?), I’ll get this thing, and when I’m done with it, it will be repeatable and sustainable (unlike what the FA team left us).
BTW, did you know that hummingbirds make a little, squeaky chirp? I never knew that before, but there are dozens of hummers around here. The are very cute and curious about me, so the get quite close. The zig and zag a bit to get different “angles” on me, and all the while they are going: Squeak! Squeak! It’s ultra-cute, and they are truly beautiful.
