Well, as of tonight, as I write this, I’m fixed to within 60 or 70 feet of the top. So, tomorrow I should be up, rig the final rap anchor, and then start the long afternoon of getting myself and hundreds of pounds of gear down 1100 feet. Sigh.
What a project. Virtually a bolt ladder the whole way. Only the last 120 feet have been mostly a crack, a “line” in the traditional sense. So, the top 200 feet will be a “line,” but the whole “approach” to that final section is just one long bolt ladder. Sad… even pathetic.
But, being no “quitter,” at least the epic drill-fest is almost complete. My hands will be weeks recovering from this.
